Former founder director for a decade of both Macquarie Infrastructure Group (toll road entity of Macquarie Bank) and Macquarie Goodman, now Goodman (the international industrial property business).
Served as director of State Super, Australia’s largest pension/superannuation fund;
Past director of State Rail Authority of NSW & of Sydney Metro Transport, owners and operators of Sydney Light Rail.
Former Adjunct Professor at the Australian Graduate School of Management in Centre for Corporate Change.
Earlier Vice President of Australian Council of Trade Unions.
Awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1997.
Adam A. Geha – Chief Executive Officer
Adam Geha is CEO of EG his responsibilities include recruiting, leading and training acquisition staff, reviewing the property acquisition strategy and its implementation, as well as the delivery of key strategic and operational objectives.
Adam has worked in the investment banking industry for over ten years. Prior to joining EG, Adam worked in Macquarie Bank's corporate advisory and project finance divisions where he advised on a number of high profile transactions including MIG's acquisition of a portfolio of European infrastructure assets, later valued at over $1.5 billion, including the London to Birmingham private toll road; and the refinancing of a $2.3 billion debt portfolio of a major Australian industrial company.
Prior to joining Macquarie Bank, Adam completed Economics and Law degrees at Sydney University where he graduated with the University Medal in economics, the CPA Medal in accounting, and the BRW Business Student of the Year award. Adam also graduated with the highest honors in law and worked at Freehill Hollingdale and Page lawyers, and as a Sydney University lecturer in management and financial accounting.
Adam is also a director and the responsible officer of a licensed security dealer.
Adrian Lee – Chief Financial Officer
Adrian is Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial operation, compliance and administration of all prior Funds. Adrian is also integrally involved in the human resources function of the group.
Prior to joining EG seven years ago, Adrian worked in the retail banking industry with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Having graduated from Macquarie University, Adrian holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Marketing. Adrian has also completed a Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, and is an Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).
Mark Watson – Divisional Director
Head of NSW Property Acquisitions at EG, with over 15-years experience in the property asset market. Mark has played an integral role in developing the acquisition systems and processes for prior funds.
He has extensive transaction experience across the residential, commercial, industrial and retail asset classes.
Since joining EG seven years ago, Mark has been personally involved in over 200 property negotiations, realising 70 acquisitions worth approximately $300 million.
Formerly a senior licensed real estate agent, responsible for residential sales in an exclusive waterfront suburb of Sydney and also a project manager in the commercial construction industry, supervising over $250 million of public and private projects.
Mark will eventually transition into the development management arm of the business.
Trevor Byles – Divisional Director
Trevor is responsible for property acquisitions within the YPI Fund in NSW & Queensland.
Trevor has an extensive property background including roles as the National Acquisitions Manager of Kennard’s Self Storage and as a manager of the NSW Sales & Investments team at Savills property agency.
He has a Masters degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University and an undergraduate Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales.
Trevor is a life member of Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Club. He spent seven years playing grade rugby at East’s including three as Club Captain. Prior to joining East’s Trevor played five seasons at Southern Districts.
Michel Chaaya – Director
Dr Chaaya is a Director of Business Development at EG Funds Management. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years experience in project management in Australia and the Middle East. Dr Chaaya is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Sydney leading research in Islamic finance, risk management, innovation in construction and property facilities management.
He has published articles in international journals including the Journal of Management in Engineering and the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management. Dr Chaaya was awarded a Fellowship with the Institution of Engineers Australia in 2005 and speaks English, French and Arabic fluently.
Mark Syke – Associate Director
Mark is an Associate Director and National Planning and Development Manager with EG. He is responsible for urban planning input into the property acquisition process and the management of rezoning and development approvals for EG property assets throughout Australia.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economic Geography from the University of New South Wales. He is a Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Certified Practising Planner.
Before starting with EG in October 2007, Mark had completed 18 years professional experience as a planning consultant with leading private firms across Australia and in Jakarta.
Raja Jamal – Associate Director
Raja is an Associate Director of EG based in the Melbourne Office. He has been responsible for establishing a presence for EG in both Perth and Melbourne, primarily being responsible for acquisitions for the YPI Trust.
Raja had previously spent 2 years based in Sydney, responsible for asset management in the ERL Property Trust followed by 2 years in Perth as both asset manager and acquisition manager in the PRL Property Trust and has been a lead negotiator in the acquisition of over 35 properties in Sydney and Perth.
Prior to joining EG, Raja worked as a property manager at a licensed real estate agency and before that, as a network administrator at KPMG, Sydney. Raja has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Newcastle (2000) and has a Certificate of Registration with the Real Estate Institute of NSW.
Matt Davison – Senior Acquisitions Manager
Matt is a Senior Manager of EG based in the Sydney office from March 2010. He is primarily responsible for acquisitions for the YPI Trust and also chairing the asset management committee meetings.
Matt has over 15 years property experience in asset management, acquisitions and value added property and specialises in commercial office and retail. Matt has held a number of senior roles within market leading groups. Most recently, Matt was the General Manager of Investment Property within TOGA Group who own and operate the Medina, Adina, VIBE and Travelodge hotels.
Matt has also held senior positions within DEXUS, Knight Frank and worked with the privately backed Brentwood Corporation for over 7 years.
Alex Banzic – Senior Manager
Alex is a Senior Manager of EG based in the Perth office. He has been responsible for establishing a presence for EG in both Perth and Melbourne, primarily being responsible for acquisitions for the YPI Trust.
Alex had previously spent 3 years based in Perth, responsible for acquisitions in the PRL Property Trust as well as playing a pivotal role in the Perth Retail and Retail Plus property Trusts. Alex has been involved in all Perth transactions totalling in excess of AUD$130 million.
Alex has also been an active member of the ALP (WA Branch) Planning, Transport and Urban Services Policy Committee (reporting to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure), and had been elected to the ALP (WA Branch) State Executive and 2005 State Conference. He was also actively involved in a private family business, developing townhouses in Perth’s outer suburbs. Alex has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Notre Dame.
Ben Harding – Asset Manager
Ben has recently joined EG in the Sydney office and is responsible for the asset management of the properties within the YPI Fund.
Ben has spent the past seven years working in finance and commercial property in London. Most recently Ben spent five and a half years working for ING Real Estate, in an asset and fund management role on both institutional and private account mandates.
Ben holds a Masters Degree in Property Valuation and Law from London City University and a Bachelor Degree in Finance from Otago University, New Zealand. In addition Ben is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
